Apple has introduced Apple Invites, a brand-new app designed to help iPhone users create and manage custom invitations for any occasion. The app allows users to easily send invites, track RSVPs, contribute to Shared Albums, and even collaborate on Apple Music playlists to enhance the event experience.
Starting today, Apple Invites is available as a free download from the App Store for iPhones running iOS 18 or later. Users can also access it on the web via icloud.com/invites, making it accessible across devices. While iCloud+ subscribers can create invitations, anyone—regardless of whether they own an Apple device—can RSVP.
A Seamless and Engaging Event Planning Experience
According to Brent Chiu-Watson, Apple’s Senior Director of Worldwide Product Marketing for Apps and iCloud, the new app aims to make events more interactive and memorable:
“With Apple Invites, an event comes to life from the moment the invitation is created, and users can share lasting memories even after they get together.”
The app integrates familiar Apple services, allowing users to:
- Choose custom designs from their photo library or a curated gallery of backgrounds.
- Add event details like location, date, and a preview of the weather forecast.
- Contribute to a Shared Album, where attendees can upload and view event photos and videos.
- Create collaborative Apple Music playlists, letting guests add songs to curate a unique event soundtrack.
Apple Intelligence Enhances the Invitation Experience
The app also taps into Apple Intelligence, Apple’s latest AI-powered technology, to help users design visually engaging invitations. Using Image Playground, users can create original event images based on descriptions, themes, or even personal photos. Additionally, built-in Writing Tools assist in crafting the perfect invitation wording.
Complete Control for Hosts and Guests
Apple Invites provides easy event management tools for hosts, including:
- Viewing and managing RSVPs.
- Sharing invitations via links.
- Customizing privacy settings, such as controlling who can see event details.
Meanwhile, guests can RSVP without needing an iCloud+ subscription or Apple Account and have the option to adjust their event visibility or leave an event at any time.
