Zurich-based software-testing startup Klarent has raised $8 million in seed funding to expand into the United States and develop its platform for checking software as AI accelerates code production.
Announced on 9 October 2026, the round was led by Mosaic Ventures, with participation from Moonfire Ventures and investors including former Google director Jürgen Galler, Harris Barton and AngelInvest Ventures.
From Google to Software Quality Assurance
Founded in 2023 by former Google engineers Asheem Panakkat and Momchil Ivanov, Klarent was previously known as fore ai.
Panakkat serves as CEO, while Ivanov is CTO. Their venture focuses on a growing challenge for developers: keeping software testing up to speed with the increasing volume of code being produced.
How the Platform Works
According to Klarent, its AI agents write and update test code, which then executes through repeatable procedures. A human verification service checks results.
The approach aims to help businesses identify software problems while reducing the manual work involved in maintaining tests.
US Expansion Takes Priority
Klarent names JD Sports, NZZ and Sixt among its European customers.
The company plans to use the investment to establish its US presence, expand its engineering team and strengthen testing across web and mobile applications. It is also pursuing customers in banking and insurance.
