Samsung has announced Galaxy Buds On, open-ear wireless earbuds designed for listeners who want to enjoy music while remaining aware of the world around them.
A Clip-On Approach to Listening
The earbuds feature a clip-on design that rests around the ear. Samsung says the band balances comfort and a secure fit, with each earbud weighing 6.65g.
The design targets everyday activities, including outdoor running, where hearing surrounding sounds can be useful.
Sound With Less Leakage
Samsung’s TwinBoost speaker is paired with technology designed to reduce sound escaping towards nearby people. An experimental automatic volume feature adjusts playback according to surrounding noise on compatible devices.
For calls, three microphones and a Voice Pickup Unit help distinguish the wearer’s voice from background noise.
Hands-Free Features
Supported Galaxy devices unlock features including Gemini Live access, voice memos and head gestures for handling calls. Availability depends on the connected device, software and market.
Battery Life and Availability
Samsung claims up to 9.5 hours of music playback, extending to 38 hours with the charging case.
Galaxy Buds On are scheduled for US availability in black during early November 2026 at $229. The announcement does not specify South African pricing or availability.
