Apple introduced Apple Watch Ultra 3, its most advanced sports and adventure watch yet, offering a larger display, up to 42 hours of battery life, and new health and fitness features powered by Apple Intelligence.
The Apple Watch Ultra 3 is designed for athletes, adventurers, and everyday users who want a single device that seamlessly shifts between being a powerful sports watch, an elegant smartwatch, and a comprehensive health companion.
“Apple Watch Ultra is our most advanced Apple Watch, designed to take users from sports and adventure to the rest of their life,” said Eugene Kim, Apple’s vice president of Apple Watch Hardware Engineering. “Apple Watch Ultra 3 debuts longer battery life, powerful health insights, and all the advanced fitness features our users love.”
Largest Display Ever on an Apple Watch
Apple Watch Ultra 3 introduces Apple’s most advanced display technology yet. The LTPO3 wide-angle OLED screen is 24% larger with thinner borders and brighter viewing angles, making information easier to read even in bright outdoor conditions. The display now supports a 1Hz Always-On refresh rate, allowing users to see a ticking seconds hand or glanceable metrics without raising their wrist.
Battery Life Built for Adventure
Ultra 3 delivers up to 42 hours of battery life, or up to 72 hours in Low Power Mode. Outdoor athletes benefit from 20 hours of continuous GPS and heart rate tracking in Low Power Mode, while fast charging provides up to 12 hours of use from just 15 minutes of charging.
New Sleep Score for Better Rest
With watchOS 26, Apple introduces Sleep Score, a new feature that helps users understand the quality of their sleep by analyzing duration, consistency, wakeups, and time spent in sleep stages. Backed by over 5 million nights of sleep data, the algorithm aligns with guidelines from leading sleep research organizations and gives users actionable insights to improve nightly rest.
Workout Buddy and Smarter Fitness Tracking
Apple Watch Ultra 3 debuts Workout Buddy, a first-of-its-kind fitness experience powered by Apple Intelligence. It offers real-time, spoken motivation based on heart rate, pace, distance, and personal milestones. Runners benefit from the most accurate GPS in a sports watch, advanced metrics like stride length and vertical oscillation, and features like Race Route and Precision Start.
Cyclists can connect Bluetooth power meters and track metrics such as cadence and Power Zones, while swimmers benefit from automatic stroke detection and water temperature readings. Offline maps, Waypoints, and Backtrack features also support hikers and outdoor explorers.
New Bands and Design Options
Apple Watch Ultra 3 is available in natural or black titanium, with a new collection of bands including an updated Trail Loop with reflective yarn, fresh colors for the Ocean Band and Alpine Loop, and a new Hermès Scub’H Diving band for active lifestyles.
Environmentally Responsible Manufacturing
As part of Apple 2030, Apple Watch Ultra 3 is built with 40% recycled materials, including 100% recycled cobalt in the battery and 100% recycled titanium in the case. The case is made using an innovative 3D-printing process that halves raw material use, and packaging is now completely fiber-based and recyclable.
