Nedbank, along with Primedia Broadcasting talk radio stations 702 and CapeTalk, have announced the return of South Africa’s longest-running small- and medium-enterprise mentorship and investment programme – Nedbank Business Ignite.
This will be the ninth year the campaign has supported small and medium businesses in Gauteng and the Western Cape.
The theme for 2021 celebrates small and medium enterprises that have adopted new business models for a post-Covid-19 reality.
Businesses that are invited to enter are those that have adapted to the downturn in the economy and thrived through inspired thinking and the use of new technologies.
Nedbank Business Ignite is part of Nedbank’s many initiatives to empower entrepreneurs to carve out new markets and sustainable industries and, in doing so, boost the South African economy.
‘Covid-19 has reinforced our long-term commitment to small, medium and micro enterprises in South Africa. Last year, the number of Gauteng entries for this campaign increased by 20%, indicating not only the value of the Nedbank Business Ignite property, but also the growing need to support small and medium enterprises. We are happy to once again partner with talk radio stations 702 and CapeTalk and hope that this year’s theme of innovation in the face of adversity inspires all South African entrepreneurs,’
said Alan Shannon, Nedbank Executive: Client Engagement, Professional Banking and Small Business Services.
Business growth expert and founder of Furaha Afrika Holdings, Matsi Modise, will once again aid businesses with mentorship and the tools to adjust, thrive and level up.
‘I love this campaign because it’s a real-life case study on how to take a business to the next level. I can’t wait to see the entries for this year and to work with the winners to make their businesses future-proof,’
says Modise, who is also the Nedbank Business Ignite Incubator.
Businesses are invited to enter the campaign at igniteyourbusiness.co.za. The campaign will profile 40 finalist businesses, and two businesses per radio station stand the chance to win a package worth R280 000 each, which includes:
- a R40 000 cash injection;
- a three-month incubation package with Furaha Afrika Holdings worth R40 000; and
