New AI-powered features, enhanced navigation tools and expanded media experiences headline Apple’s latest services update
Apple has announced a wide range of new features and intelligence-driven experiences across its services ecosystem, with updates coming to Apple Maps, Find My, Apple Wallet, Apple Podcasts, Apple Music, iCloud and Apple Fitness+ later this year. The company revealed the enhancements on 9 June 2026 as part of its upcoming software releases scheduled for the fall.
Apple Maps Gains AI-Enhanced Flyover and Local Lists
One of the most notable updates comes to Apple Maps, which introduces an enhanced Flyover experience powered by artificial intelligence. The feature combines aerial imagery and AI technology to provide more detailed and realistic views of selected cities worldwide.
Apple is also launching Local Lists in the United States, allowing users to discover trending restaurants, family-friendly attractions and other popular destinations through curated collections generated from local trends and insights.
Find My Adds Flexible Location Sharing
The Find My app is receiving new controls that allow users to share their location for custom periods ranging from minutes to days. Users will also be able to set specific dates and times for location sharing to end automatically.
On Apple Watch, Apple is consolidating its Find Devices, Find Items and Find People applications into a single Find My app featuring a map-centric interface. The update also adds Precision Finding support for compatible devices, including certain iPhone models, AirTags and AirPods.
Apple Wallet Introduces AI-Powered Bill Splitting
Apple Wallet will gain the ability to split bills using Apple Cash and Apple Intelligence. Users can scan receipts using their iPhone camera or upload photos of bills, allowing the system to identify items, calculate individual shares including tax and tips, and facilitate payments through Apple Cash.
The company is also introducing support for storing physical membership and loyalty cards in Apple Wallet by scanning barcodes or QR codes. Hotel digital keys are also being expanded with additional trip-related information and services for participating hospitality partners.
Apple Pay and Tap to Pay Receive Checkout Enhancements
Apple Pay is being redesigned to provide more payment information at checkout, including rewards balances, debit account balances and buy-now-pay-later options.
Tap to Pay on iPhone is also being upgraded with a new feature called Tap to Share, enabling customers to securely share information such as loyalty details and contact information with participating merchants during in-store purchases. Customers will also be able to view their shopping basket in real time before completing payments.
Video Podcasts Expand to Mac and Apple TV
Apple Podcasts is expanding video podcast support to macOS and tvOS. Mac users will be able to watch video podcasts with Picture in Picture functionality, while Apple TV users will receive a redesigned interface optimized for video content.
The platform is also introducing a search-within-show feature designed to help listeners locate specific episodes more quickly across Apple’s podcast ecosystem.
iCloud Shared Albums and Apple Music Get New Features
Shared Albums on iCloud are being updated with full-resolution photo sharing, additional file format support, emoji reactions and temporary collaborative albums. Users without Apple devices will also be able to contribute through the web.
Apple Music is expanding its Lyrics Translation and Lyrics Pronunciation features to additional languages. The service’s AutoMix functionality is also receiving enhancements aimed at creating smoother transitions between songs. Additionally, Apple is bringing Hi-Res Lossless Audio support to Apple TV 4K for compatible audio setups.
Apple Sports Reaches More Markets
Apple announced that its free Apple Sports app is now available in more than 170 countries and regions, including over 90 newly added markets. The app provides real-time scores, statistics and standings across various sports competitions.
Fitness+ Launches Menopause-Focused Programme
Apple Fitness+ has introduced a new programme called “Strong Through Menopause,” a three-week fitness series featuring yoga and strength workouts designed to support users navigating perimenopause and menopause. The programme focuses on improving strength, balance, mobility and stress management.
