Google has officially opened applications for its highly anticipated Africa Accelerator Program, a three-month hybrid initiative aimed at supporting Seed to Series A technology startups across the continent. The program is designed to connect Africa’s most promising startups with the best of Google’s tools, expertise, and innovation to drive meaningful growth and scale.
Running from June to August 2025, the accelerator brings together 10 to 15 startups per cohort for a mix of remote and in-person sessions, including 1-on-1 mentoring, group learning, sprint projects, and deep dives into technical challenges. The program will culminate in a Demo Day in August, showcasing the innovations and progress made by participating startups.
Equity-Free Support and Hands-On Expertise
Startups selected for the accelerator will receive equity-free support and have access to Google’s network of experts and mentors. Each founder will work closely with Google and industry professionals to address their most pressing technical and business challenges, from product development and customer acquisition to leadership strategy.
“This program is all about helping startups build solutions that scale and make a real impact,” said a Google spokesperson. “We’re looking for startups that are using advanced technologies like AI and machine learning and have a solid business model with a clear path to growth.”
Extensive Resources and Cloud Credits
Participants will benefit from the Google for Startups Cloud Program, which includes up to $350,000 in Google Cloud credits, technical training, access to major industry events, and even 30 days of free Cloud TPU access through the TPU Research Cloud program — ideal for startups pursuing open-source machine learning research.

Strategic support on company and product roadmaps
