Themed “A Localized African Adventure” the hackathon challenges participants to create games that reflect African culture, accessibility, and digital trends. Whether you’re a game developer, designer, software developer, or gaming entrepreneur, this is your chance to
showcase your skills and creativity.
Over a 42-hour period, participants will work in teams, guided by sector experts who will serve as mentors for the hackathon. The event starts on Friday, May 19 at 6:00 PM and ends on Sunday, May 21 at 4:00 PM. You can participate in person in Johannesburg and Cape Town, or virtually from anywhere in Africa.
And the best part? Registration is free for all participants, and the top three teams will share a prize pool of R200,000 ($11,000) and receive access to mentors for a two-month development process.
