WEETS 2026 to Spotlight Women Leading Africa’s AI Revolution

Annual summit aims to empower female innovators, entrepreneurs and executives to shape the continent’s AI-driven future

As artificial intelligence continues to reshape industries around the world, the Women Entrepreneurs & Executives in Tech Summit & Awards (WEETS) 2026 is set to place women at the centre of Africa’s digital transformation.

Scheduled as the sixth edition of the annual summit, WEETS 2026 will be held under the theme “From Innovation to Impact: Women Leading the AI-Driven Future,” bringing together entrepreneurs, technology leaders, policymakers, investors, development partners and aspiring professionals to explore how women can harness AI to drive innovation, economic growth and sustainable development across the continent.

Organised by Techlife Media & Communications Ltd, the summit has established itself as one of Nigeria’s leading platforms dedicated to celebrating and advancing women in technology, entrepreneurship and digital leadership. Since its inception, WEETS has created opportunities for networking, mentorship, policy discussions and skills development while recognising women making significant contributions to Africa’s growing digital economy.

Speaking ahead of the event, WEETS Convener and Techlife Media & Communications Ltd Founder Ugochi Emmanuel said the 2026 edition is designed to ensure women are equipped to thrive in an AI-first world.

“Artificial Intelligence is redefining how businesses operate, how industries innovate, and how societies grow. Through WEETS 2026, we aim to ensure that women are not merely participants in this transformation but leaders, innovators, and decision-makers shaping the AI-driven future,” Emmanuel said.

Ahead of the main summit, organisers will host a two-day Advanced Digital Skills Bootcamp on 11 and 12 September 2026. The programme will provide practical training in artificial intelligence, digital innovation, entrepreneurship and other emerging technologies, targeting women entrepreneurs, young professionals and aspiring tech leaders looking to strengthen their future-ready skills.

The summit itself will feature keynote addresses, executive panel discussions, fireside conversations, exhibitions, mentorship sessions and networking opportunities, culminating in the WEETS Awards, which honour women and organisations championing innovation, inclusion and digital transformation.

The announcement comes at a time when conversations around gender representation in artificial intelligence are gaining momentum globally. While women remain underrepresented in many areas of AI research, leadership and venture capital funding, initiatives such as WEETS are seeking to bridge the gap by creating pathways for education, collaboration and investment. Similar efforts are being championed by organisations across the world that focus on increasing women’s participation in STEM and emerging technologies.

As Africa’s digital economy accelerates, WEETS 2026 is positioning itself as more than a conference. By combining practical skills development with leadership recognition and cross-sector collaboration, the initiative aims to ensure women play a defining role in shaping the next generation of AI-powered innovation across the continent.
