Facebook Launches Dedicated Seller App

New AI-powered platform aims to help entrepreneurs and side hustlers manage and grow their Marketplace businesses

As Facebook Marketplace celebrates its 10th anniversary, Meta has unveiled Seller, a dedicated app designed to give Marketplace sellers a streamlined way to manage listings, connect with buyers and grow their businesses.

Over the past decade, Facebook Marketplace has evolved from a simple buying and selling feature within Facebook Groups into one of the world’s largest online commerce platforms. Today, more than 430 million items are listed on Marketplace every month globally, creating new income opportunities for millions of people, from casual sellers to full-time entrepreneurs.

The launch of Seller reflects the growing role of social commerce and the increasing number of users who rely on Marketplace as a source of additional income or as the foundation of a small business.

A Dedicated Home for Sellers

Unlike selling directly through the Facebook app, Seller provides users with a purpose-built environment focused entirely on managing their Marketplace business.

The app synchronises seamlessly with Facebook Marketplace, meaning existing listings, buyer conversations and selling history automatically carry over. Any new listings created within Seller are also published directly to Marketplace, ensuring sellers continue to reach the platform’s vast audience of buyers.

Facebook says users can still buy and sell through the main Facebook app, but Seller offers additional tools for those looking to manage their businesses more efficiently.

Meta AI Speeds Up Listing Creation

One of the app’s standout features is the integration of Meta AI, which helps automate the listing process.

After uploading product photos, the AI can automatically generate important listing details, including product titles, descriptions, suggested pricing and categories. This allows sellers to publish listings much faster while maintaining consistency.

The app also introduces a bulk listing feature, enabling sellers with larger inventories to upload multiple products simultaneously.

Built-In Business Management Tools

Seller includes several new features aimed at improving efficiency and helping sellers make data-driven decisions.

These include:

  • A personalised Seller Home highlighting tasks that require immediate attention, such as responding to buyers, shipping orders or repricing listings.
  • Centralised inventory management that allows users to edit, relist and organise all their products from one place.
  • A unified inbox that groups buyer conversations by individual listing, making communication easier to track.
  • Performance analytics showing listing views, clicks, buyer enquiries and completed sales, giving sellers insights into what products are performing best and where pricing adjustments may be needed.

Initially Available in the United States

The Seller app is currently available on Apple’s App Store for users aged 18 and older in the United States.

Meta has also confirmed that a web experience is available for sellers using the app, while Android testing is already underway. The company says the platform will continue evolving based on feedback from the seller community.
