Wired4Women Awards 2026 Finalists Revealed

The finalists for the 2026 Wired4Women Awards have been announced, highlighting some of South Africa’s leading women in technology, digital innovation, cybersecurity, education, and business leadership. The awards recognise outstanding contributions by women across the country’s ICT sector and continue efforts to promote gender inclusion within the technology industry.

Recognising Excellence Across the Tech Industry

Now in its third year, the Wired4Women Awards, an initiative of the Wired4Women Forum and ITWeb Brainstorm, received hundreds of nominations across 13 categories. The programme celebrates women at various stages of their careers, from students and emerging professionals to executives, entrepreneurs, mentors, and industry pioneers.

According to the organisers, the awards aim to showcase the impact women are making in South Africa’s technology ecosystem while encouraging greater diversity and representation in the sector.

Industry Leaders Among the Finalists

Several prominent technology and business leaders have been shortlisted in key categories.

The CIO of the Year category includes executives from major organisations such as Standard Bank, Absa, National Health Laboratory Service, and Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator.

In the Tech Business Leader category, finalists include Audrey Mothupi-Palmstierna, Kasthuri Soni, Siddika Osman, Thirusha Chetty, and Videsha Proothveerajh.

Spotlight on Future Talent

The awards also recognise the next generation of technology professionals through the Top Tech Student category. Finalists include students from institutions such as University of Johannesburg, University of the Witwatersrand, and Tshwane University of Technology.

The Tech4Good category highlights women using technology to drive positive social impact, with finalists representing organisations focused on digital inclusion, youth development, and technology education.

Winners to Be Announced in April

Following the announcement of the finalists, shortlisted candidates will undergo interviews as part of the adjudication process. The winners were scheduled to be revealed during the Wired4Women Awards Banquet held at the Four Seasons Hotel The Westcliff on 16 April 2026.
