Nu Mexico has partnered with the government of Jalisco to fund 300 technology-training scholarships for women, aiming to improve employment prospects and strengthen financial independence.
Announced in Guadalajara on 17 September 2026, the Generación Nu programme targets women who are unemployed or underemployed. Nu Mexico will fully fund the scholarships through a donation to Laboratoria, which will deliver the training.
Building Skills for Digital Careers
Participants will complete 12 weeks of intensive training, developing technical skills relevant to employers alongside tools for managing their personal finances.
The programme is the first major initiative under a broader agreement between Nu Mexico and Jalisco’s Secretariat for Economic Development, known as SEDECO. The partnership focuses on financial education, digital confidence and access to technology employment.
Connecting Training With Employment Opportunities
According to El Economista, the curriculum includes a financial education module co-designed with Nu, covering budgeting, formal savings and responsible credit use.
After completing their training, participants will also be able to join an employment-support hub offering individual mentorship and connections with potential employers. This support is intended to help women translate their new skills into career opportunities.
Supporting Women’s Economic Independence
Nu Mexico’s director of public, regulatory and legal affairs, Romina Benvenuti, said the partnership aims to give women practical tools for economic autonomy through financial education, cybersecurity and technology training.
