OPPO has officially announced the South African launch of its Reno15 Series, introducing the Reno15 Pro and Reno15 F to the local market. The new devices will be available nationwide from 7 February, further strengthening OPPO’s position as a brand focused on balancing design, performance and everyday usability within the premium mid-tier smartphone segment.
Since entering South Africa, OPPO’s Reno Series has gained traction among users seeking smartphones that integrate seamlessly into daily life without compromising on advanced features. With the Reno15 Series, OPPO builds on this momentum by delivering notable upgrades in imaging, display quality and battery performance, while keeping pricing accessible.
“South Africa continues to play an important role in OPPO’s global growth,”
said Avashnee Moodley, Head of Marketing at OPPO South Africa.
“The Reno15 Series demonstrates our long-term commitment to this market by combining innovation, design and performance that is relevant, reliable and accessible for everyday use.”
Designed for everyday life
The Reno15 Series has been designed to transition effortlessly between work, leisure and personal time, reflecting how South Africans use their smartphones throughout the day. Both devices feature slim, comfortable designs paired with large AMOLED displays and ultra-smooth 120Hz refresh rates for fluid scrolling, streaming and gaming.
The Reno15 Pro comes with a 6.32-inch OLED display offering rich colour and an almost edge-to-edge viewing experience, while the Reno15 F features a larger 6.57-inch AMOLED screen, ideal for media consumption and content creation on the go.
Cameras that keep up
Photography remains a major focus of the Reno lineup. The Reno15 Pro is equipped with a 200MP main camera, complemented by a 50MP telephoto lens and a 50MP ultra-wide lens, enabling high-quality portraits, landscapes and group shots. A 50MP front camera supports sharper selfies and clearer video calls, while features such as 4K video recording, Dual-View Video and Underwater Photography expand creative possibilities.
The Reno15 F offers a versatile 50MP main camera with ultra-wide and macro lenses, alongside a 50MP front camera, catering to everyday photography and social media sharing. Both devices also include OPPO’s AI-powered tools such as AI Eraser 2.0, AI Portrait Glow and built-in video editing features for quick enhancements before posting.
All-day power and performance
Battery life is another standout feature. The Reno15 Pro houses a 6,200mAh battery, while the Reno15 F pushes even further with a 7,000mAh battery. Both support OPPO’s 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging, delivering hours of power in just minutes.
In terms of performance, the Reno15 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8450 chipset for smooth multitasking and gaming, while the Reno15 F runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 platform, offering dependable everyday performance.
Where art meets technology
To mark the local launch, OPPO has collaborated with multidisciplinary graphic designer Mia Spinazze, alternative fashion designer Zeshaan of Haku, and creative director and fine artist Trevor Brunez. Together, they have created a series of art installations exploring the intersection of technology, creativity, fashion and everyday expression.
“Working with these artists has shown just how powerful technology can enhance storytelling,”
Moodley added.
“Their ideas, brought to life through the OPPO Reno15, remind us that design is ultimately about people – how we feel, connect and express our experiences of the world.”
Built for local conditions
Both the Reno15 Pro and Reno15 F are IP69-rated, offering resistance to dust and water and making them suitable for South Africa’s varied environments, from beach outings to rainy days, while also enabling underwater photography.
Pricing and availability
Despite rising smartphone prices globally, OPPO has maintained competitive pricing for the Reno15 Series in South Africa. The devices will be available on contract from Vodacom, MTN, Telkom and Cell C from 7 February, with a range of promotional bundles and launch deals.
