YouTube Announces $100M Shorts Fund Eligible For Everyone

YouTube is introducing the YouTube Shorts Fund, a $100M fund distributed over the course of 2021-2022. Anyone is eligible to participate in the fund simply by creating unique Shorts that delight the YouTube community.

Each month, YouTube will reach out to thousands of creators whose Shorts received the most engagement and views to reward them for their contributions. YouTube will also ask these creators to share their feedback so the platform can continue to improve the product experience.

The Shorts Fund is not limited to just creators in the YouTube Partner Program. Creators will be eligible to participate if they create original content for Shorts and adhere to the Community Guidelines.

YouTube will share additional details as they get closer to launching the fund in the coming months.

The Shorts Fund is the first step in the YouTube journey to build a monetization model for Shorts. This is a top priority and will take YouTube some time to get it right. They are actively working on this, and will take the feedback gathered from the community to help develop a long-term program specifically designed for YouTube Shorts.
