Apple Music’s Africa Now Radio With Cuppy This Sunday With Jux

Tanzanian singer-songwriter Jux is this week’s cover star, and joins Cuppy via FaceTime on Apple Music 1 to talk about his latest track, “Sawa.” He also discusses building his career while studying in China, his other creative ventures, and the importance of building a legacy.

Jux on what he has in store for 2021

“I’m going to release my next album this year, so it’s more about music too. I plan to release and launch a lot of things from African Boy, like body sprays, a lot of things. Yeah. More music, more video, more clothes, more everything. This is the time that I have more time to do things. So a lot of all together, music and fashion.”

Jux on why studying in China helped push his career

“I was doing music and I was doing so good as a young star, famous, girls like you, everybody’s talking about you. And I just told myself to go back to school because I was just wondering why everything is coming from China. What is in China? So I was so excited. At the end of the day, me staying in China, now I have a number one East African brand called African Boy, merchandise, I make a lot of things. So it was not a waste of time.”
