Bose Unveils QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen)

Bose has introduced the QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen), refreshing its popular wireless headphone lineup with upgraded active noise cancellation (ANC), support for lossless USB-C audio, and new immersive listening features aimed at music lovers, commuters, and remote workers. The headphones are available for pre-order from August 8, with shipments beginning August 13, priced at $359 in the United States.

The latest model builds on the success of the original QuietComfort headphones by incorporating technology previously reserved for Bose’s premium Ultra series. Among the headline features is improved adaptive ANC, which now better maintains noise isolation even for users wearing eyeglasses, thanks to an upgraded six-microphone system and refined algorithms.

Another major enhancement is the addition of lossless audio playback via USB-C, allowing listeners to enjoy higher-quality wired digital audio with reduced latency. Bose has also introduced TrueSpatial Immersive Audio, complete with head-tracking technology and a new Cinema Mode designed to create a wider soundstage and improve dialogue clarity when watching movies or streaming content.

Comfort has also received attention. The second-generation headphones feature a redesigned headband with increased cushioning, more comfortable ear cushions, and improved adjustability for extended listening sessions. Despite the upgrades, Bose has retained the familiar physical button controls favored by many users.

Battery performance remains competitive, offering up to 24 hours of playback with ANC enabled, or around 18 hours when Immersive Audio is activated. Bluetooth 5.4, multipoint connectivity, and playback while charging via USB-C further enhance the headphones’ versatility.

The QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen) launch in five colour options, including Black, White Smoke, Eucalyptus Green, Dewdrop Mint, and Rosewood Mauve, giving consumers more choices beyond the traditional finishes.

With stronger noise cancellation, support for high-quality wired audio, and immersive sound technology inherited from its flagship lineup, Bose is positioning the QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen) as a strong contender in the premium wireless headphone market, where they compete against offerings from Sony, Apple, and Sennheiser.
