Canon Retains EcoVadis Platinum Status

Canon has once again been recognised for its leadership in sustainability, earning EcoVadis Platinum status for the second consecutive year and securing a place among the top 1% of companies assessed worldwide for sustainability performance.

EcoVadis, one of the world’s most trusted business sustainability rating platforms, evaluates more than 150,000 companies across 185 countries and 250 industries.

Assessments are based on four core pillars: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. In the latest evaluation, Canon improved its overall score to 89 out of 100, up from 85 in 2025, comfortably maintaining its Platinum rating.

The strong result reflects Canon Group’s comprehensive and long-term approach to sustainability, with high scores recorded across all four assessment categories. The company performed particularly well in the areas of Environment and Labour & Human Rights, underlining its focus on both environmental responsibility and social impact.

Driving Impact Through Long-Term Commitments

Canon continues to strengthen its environmental and social initiatives as part of its broader sustainability strategy. In the environmental domain, the company has committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across the entire lifecycle of its products, including Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, by 2050.

In addition, Canon has set science-based emissions reduction targets aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). By 2030, the company aims to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42% and Scope 3 emissions (categories 1 and 11) by 25%, compared to 2022 levels.

On the social front, Canon has established the Canon Group Human Rights Policy, clearly defining its position on human rights and embedding human rights due diligence across all its operations globally.

Commenting on the achievement, Peter Bragg, EMEA Sustainability & Government Affairs Director at Canon EMEA, said the recognition reflects Canon’s ongoing efforts to embed sustainability at the heart of its business.

“We are so proud of achieving the EcoVadis Platinum rating for the second consecutive year,”

said Bragg.

“This ongoing recognition, alongside our improved overall score, serves as powerful validation of our commitment to sustainable business practices and our continuous drive to positively influence our environmental and social footprint. Retaining our Platinum status and remaining among the top 1% of rated organisations motivates us to continue raising the bar for sustainability in our industry.”

The latest EcoVadis result reinforces Canon’s position as a global sustainability leader and highlights its continued focus on responsible growth, transparency and long-term value creation.
