Facebook Marketplace is stepping into 2026 with a major glow-up, rolling out a suite of social, collaborative, and AI-powered features designed to make buying and selling more fun, more interactive, and more personalised than ever before.
Meta is evolving the Marketplace experience with new ways for users to connect over listings, streamline their shopping journeys, and discover the products they love most — from home décor and fashion to vehicles. With one in four young adult daily active users in the US and Canada visiting Marketplace each day, the platform is making big moves to serve a rapidly growing and increasingly style-conscious audience.
Shop Together with Collections and Collaborative Buying
At the heart of the update is a more social shopping experience. Facebook is launching collections — curated groups of saved Marketplace listings that users can create and share with friends. Collections can be public or private, and updates can be shared seamlessly across Feed, Messenger, WhatsApp and more.
In addition, Meta is testing collaborative buying, allowing users to invite a friend into their chat with a seller. Whether coordinating pickup, negotiating prices, or clarifying item details, Marketplace is making it easier for buyers to shop as a team.
Reactions, Comments, and a More Personalised Marketplace
Marketplace users can now react and comment directly on listings — a feature that helps others understand item quality, share opinions, and highlight unique finds. Each like or comment also helps fine-tune Marketplace’s recommendations, ensuring a more relevant feed based on individual preferences.
Shop Smarter With Meta AI
Meta is introducing new AI tools to help buyers ask the right questions and make more confident decisions.
A “Suggested questions to ask” button now appears when messaging a seller, prompting Meta AI to analyse the listing and conversation to propose useful questions about condition, specifications, or logistics.
Vehicles — one of the top five searches among young adults — are getting an even bigger AI boost. Marketplace will now display AI-powered insights on car listings, consolidating details like engine types, safety ratings, interior features, reviews, and price comparisons into one convenient view.
Bigger Inventory Through eBay and Poshmark
Fashion remains one of Marketplace’s fastest-growing categories, with over 200 million items listed in the US alone. To meet this demand, Meta has expanded Marketplace’s inventory through integrations with eBay and Poshmark.
Partner listings are clearly marked and appear naturally within Marketplace feeds. Users can browse seller details on the product page and are redirected to the partner’s website for checkout.
A Smoother Shipping and Checkout Experience
The platform is also refining the shipping experience with a more transparent checkout. Buyers can now see the full cost — including tax and shipping — before making a purchase and will receive updates as their order status changes. The aim is to make shipped purchases feel just as simple and reliable as local pickups.
More To Come in 2026
The updates mark a significant leap forward for Facebook Marketplace, turning it into a more social, collaborative and intelligent shopping space. Meta says users can expect even more enhancements in 2026 as it continues to evolve the platform for both buyers and sellers.
