Compri, the AI-powered startup revolutionizing procurement, has raised €1.6 million in pre-seed funding to scale its intelligent platform across Europe. The round was led by Italian Founders Fund (IFF) and DFF Ventures, with participation from notable industry veterans including Carl Tremblay, former Head of Growth at Plaid, and Giacinto Carullo, Chief Procurement Officer at Leonardo.
In a world of economic volatility and complex supply chains, procurement has become a strategic pillar for business success. Yet many mid-sized companies—especially in manufacturing—still rely on outdated, manual tools. Compri is changing that with a platform that uses AI to automate up to 50% of procurement workflows and deliver cost savings of up to 10% annually.
“Procurement teams face mounting complexity, but they’re often stuck using spreadsheets and clunky ERP systems,”
said Compri co-founder Edoardo Arbizzi.
“Our platform acts like an extra procurement team—powered by AI—helping companies cut costs, boost compliance, and gain a competitive edge.”
Founded by Arbizzi, formerly of Bain & Company and Ferrari, and Edoardo Gava, an ex-VC at Milano Investment Partners, Compri is laser-focused on mid-market firms with revenues between €10 million and €1 billion. These companies, especially in under-digitized sectors, are prime candidates for transformation.
Compri’s platform integrates seamlessly with ERP systems, emails, financial documents, and external data sources—from market indices to ESG ratings. A suite of AI agents then handles procurement tasks like supplier communication, document exchange, and real-time ERP updates, freeing up human teams to focus on strategic decisions.
The startup is already onboarding industrial clients managing between €20 million and €300 million in revenue and expects to oversee more than €500 million in spend in the coming months. With the new capital, Compri plans to scale across Europe, targeting over 70,000 companies representing a combined €4 trillion in procurement spending.
Investors see massive potential.
“Compri is tapping into a huge opportunity in European procurement,”
said Lorenzo Franzi, Partner at Italian Founders Fund.
“Their approach is exactly what mid-sized companies need—AI that drives real operational value without the consulting overhead.”
DFF Ventures, making its first investment in Italy, echoed the sentiment.
“Procurement teams oversee millions in spending, yet many still use legacy tools,”
said Laurens Groenendijk, General Partner at DFF.
“Compri is like having a procurement analyst on steroids—fully automated, endlessly scalable.”
Compri’s engineering team, comprised of alumni from unicorns like Lansweeper, Satispay, and Scalapay, is focused on building advanced machine learning capabilities to continuously evolve the platform. The company’s long-term vision: to replace costly, fragmented procurement systems with intelligent, autonomous agents that power the next generation of business efficiency.
As companies look to stay competitive amid economic uncertainty, Compri offers a bold solution—putting procurement on autopilot, and giving businesses the tools they need to thrive.
