Cassava Technologies Launches Groundbreaking AI Exchange Platform

Cassava Technologies, a global technology leader of African heritage, has unveiled the Cassava AI Multi-Model Exchange (CAIMEx) — a pioneering platform that gives Africa’s mobile network operators (MNOs) seamless access to the world’s most powerful artificial intelligence (AI) tools and large language models (LLMs).

Described as a “one-stop shop” for AI, CAIMEx integrates leading models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and others, eliminating the need for complex integrations or costly infrastructure. Through a single, easy-to-use interface managed locally by Cassava, African operators can now deploy advanced AI capabilities to serve both subscribers and businesses more effectively.

“With its growing AI ecosystem, Africa has the potential to be more than a consumer of AI technologies imported to the continent,” said Ahmed El Beheiry, CEO of Cassava AI. “Through CAIMEx, Cassava is creating a bridge between global innovation and African ambition — giving every MNO the ability to offer subscribers world-class AI tools and LLMs easily and affordably.”

CAIMEx currently supports Anthropic’s Claude models, Google’s Gemini models, and other global AI frameworks. The platform enables mobile operators to select models best suited to their needs — whether for real-time intelligence, advanced reasoning, or ethical, trusted decision-making. Applications range from enhancing customer service and automating operations to enabling innovative digital experiences powered by AI.

A key differentiator of CAIMEx is its focus on data sovereignty. All services are hosted within Cassava’s regional AI factories across Africa, ensuring that data remains on the continent and complies with local privacy and protection regulations. This infrastructure also provides high-performance compute capabilities, security, and compliance — supporting Africa’s ambition for digital self-determination.

Beyond enterprise clients, Cassava aims to make AI tools accessible to millions of mobile subscribers and SMEs, enabling a broader spectrum of African innovators to benefit from responsible, scalable AI.

This launch reinforces Cassava Technologies’ broader mission to deliver appropriate digital solutions that empower African enterprises and communities to thrive in the global digital economy.

“CAIMEx is more than a platform — it’s a catalyst for transformation,” El Beheiry added. “We’re ensuring that Africa doesn’t just adopt AI but helps define its future.”
