1KOMMA5° Launches Next-Gen Full Black Solar Module with German Polysilicon

German New Energy innovator 1KOMMA5° has unveiled its latest solar innovation: the 1KOMMA5° Full Black double-glass solar module. The new module sets a fresh benchmark in sustainability, durability, and performance, reflecting the company’s ongoing commitment to local production and ethical sourcing.

The next-generation PV module continues the use of high-quality polysilicon from Wacker Chemie, a German supplier, avoiding cheaper imports from China to maintain higher environmental and social standards. This decision underscores 1KOMMA5°’s emphasis on transparent and responsible manufacturing processes.

“We are also using polysilicon from Wacker Chemie for our new solar module, even though this means we have significantly higher production costs compared to polysilicon from China,”

said Philipp Schröder, CEO and co-founder of 1KOMMA5°.

“This ensures that the module’s most energy-intensive production step takes place within German value creation, allowing us to guarantee that the manufacturing conditions align with our values and requirements. No one else on the market offers this, and we can see that our customers recognize the added value.”

Engineered for performance and longevity, the new module is built with advanced N-Type TOPCon technology and a robust double-glass design featuring 2 mm glass on both sides. The result is a highly durable solar panel capable of withstanding extreme weather conditions while delivering an impressive 22.8% energy efficiency.

Available in 445 Wp and 450 Wp power levels—with certification for even higher capacities—the Full Black module includes a market-leading 30-year product guarantee. By the end of the warranty period, each module is guaranteed to retain at least 86% of its nominal output, offering long-term reliability to homeowners and installers alike.

“With our new solar module, we achieve solar electricity generation costs from 5 cents per kilowatt hour over 30 years,”

added Jannik Schall, CPO and co-founder of 1KOMMA5°.

“We are proud to bring a module to the market that meets such high standards while offering our customers unbeatable electricity prices.”

The module seamlessly integrates with the broader 1KOMMA5° product ecosystem, which includes the company’s inverter, home battery system, and its dynamic electricity tariff, Dynamic Pulse. These are all connected through Heartbeat AI, the company’s proprietary energy management software.

Heartbeat AI empowers users to actively participate in the energy market by consuming electricity when prices are low and selling surplus power back to the grid when rates are high. Instead of profiting from traditional electricity margins, 1KOMMA5° charges a flat software fee, allowing consumers to benefit from real-time, personalized pricing.

In 2024, Heartbeat AI expanded to support third-party devices, including heat pumps, battery systems, and EV wallboxes. This growth pushed the number of connected systems to 40,000, solidifying 1KOMMA5°’s position as Europe’s largest virtual power plant (VPP) for private households.

With this latest launch, 1KOMMA5° continues to set the pace for sustainable, consumer-focused energy solutions in Europe—offering clean power, high-end technology, and smarter energy economics in one package.
