Apple Launches Black Unity Collection to Celebrate Black History

In honor of Black History Month, Apple introduced the Black Unity Collection, a tribute to Black culture and community. Inspired by the rhythm and interconnectedness of humanity, the collection features a special-edition Apple Watch Black Unity Sport Loop, a matching Unity Rhythm watch face, and dynamic iPhone and iPad wallpapers.

The Black Unity Sport Loop is woven with a custom pattern showcasing the colors of the Pan-African flag—black, green, and red—along with the vibrant addition of yellow. Its unique lenticular effect reveals dynamic color changes as the wearer moves their wrist, embodying the theme of unity and rhythm.

The accompanying Unity Rhythm watch face combines numerals made from intertwining red, green, and yellow threads. Reacting to wrist movements, the watch face transforms from abstract brush strokes into readable digits, with rhythmic chimes marking time. iPhone and iPad users can also enjoy matching wallpapers featuring “Unity” lettering that shifts with device activity.

The collection is the result of collaboration among Black creatives and allies at Apple, reinforcing the company’s commitment to diversity and representation.

Support for Global Organizations
As part of the Black Unity Collection launch, Apple is extending support to organizations dedicated to fostering rhythm, creativity, and community. Beneficiaries include:

  • The Ellis Marsalis Center for Music in New Orleans
  • The Battersea Arts Centre in London
  • The Music Forward Foundation in Los Angeles
  • The Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney
  • The National Museum of African American Music in Nashville

This initiative reflects Apple’s broader commitment to advancing economic, educational, and creative opportunities globally.

Availability and Pricing
The Black Unity Sport Loop is available to order on the Apple Store online starting today for $49 (U.S.) and will be in Apple retail stores later this week.

Apple’s Unity Rhythm collection exemplifies its dedication to celebrating culture through innovation and thoughtful design, making it a meaningful tribute for Black History Month and beyond.
