Ambani Africa is a free app with six African languages

Ambani Africa was founded in 2018 by South African-born entrepreneur, Mukundi Lambani, to offer interactive mother-tongue education for K-12 learners.

Starting as a simple idea of addressing the under-representation of South African languages, Ambani developed a free language app that offers six African language options.

“Ambani”, which means to speak in Tshivenda, is today a South African EdTech start-up that offers multiple solutions for both private and public sector beneficiaries.

As a company, their early focus on technology-enabled language content has resulted in the advanced and diverse technology-driven solutions on offer.

They are an award winning EdTech that offers engaging solutions for the benefit of learners, parents, educators and organisations. Through the use of augmented reality, animation and gamification, Ambani Africa has successfully developed learner-focused products for language learning.

Augmented Reality

Ambani works with Augmented Reality to make learning fun and experiential. It is as simple as buying a set of books from them, downloading the FREE AMBANI AFRICA App on the Google Play Store, the Apple App Store or the Huawei App Gallery. When you view the books through the app on your phone, they COME ALIVE in 3D!

Available languages on the app are isiZulu, isiXhosa, Setswana, Sepedi, Tshivenda, and English.
